LAWN CARE TIPS

Think of your lawn like any other plant in the garden. For the grass to thrive, you need to give it the right conditions - feeding, light, air, water are all important.

Follow the tips below and you will have a fabulous lawn to enjoy all season long ...

Spring

  1. Now is the time to rake all the winter debris from your lawn and to prepare it for the season ahead.
  2. The soil needs to breath and so aeration is important . This also helps the soil temperature to rise. To aerate your lawn, you need to puncture the surface with a fork at intervals all across the surface.
  3. Keep the edges of your lawn neat so that the mower can cut right to the edge. After each mowind, trim the edges with long handled shears to give it that professional finish.

Summer

  1. Water when required.
  2. Throughout the summer, your lawn will be used most frequently, children playing, picnics, BBQ's, games in the garden. This continual use plays havoc with the grass and causes compaction of the soil beneath.
  3. Make sure you give it extra care at the end of the season to prepare it for next year...

Autumn

  1. Use a work treatment in Autumn, in a rainy period just after your lawn has been cut
  2. Rake your lawn again in autumn
  3. Apply some top dressing (loam, sand and peat mixture) to prepare the soil for next season
